praise is your protection

PRAISE is your PROTECTION during PAIN. ⁣⁣

I'm sure this is not a surprise to you but there will be pain in your life--in all of our lives. This world is not perfect and thus, nobody can have a perfect life. You might be grieving right now, or maybe you are slowly healing from a past loss or disappointment. ⁣Wherever you are in this moment, I want you to know you are ⁣NOT ALONE. ⁣

I experience pain, ⁣

and I also have joy.

⁣I have learned that one of the best ways to grieve and deal with pain, is to praise. I know that sounds counterintuitive or unrealistic, but hear me out.

When you sit down and really think about the good you have in your life, it can help put a smile on your face. ⁣⁣

*Literally write out a list of things you are thankful for in your life--a hot cup of coffee, an extra hour of sleep on the weekend, a partner/family member/friend/coworker/pet, a good book, your favorite pizza place, the sunshine, your go-to tv show that always makes you laugh (mine is The Office). ⁣⁣

*Get on Spotify or YouTube and put on a worship song (two of my favorites are "Christ is Enough for Me" and "Thy Will Be Done") and let God put His arms around you. If you let Him, He will whisper (or yell) truth to you during your praise; truths of His love and promises for you. ⁣⁣
