This is how I felt after reading all of the books listed below. I didn't want them to end!!
I love all kinds of books but this year I've been devouring thrillers. Here are 10 books you will enjoy if you like reading books like Gone Girl and The Girl on the Train . . . (Click each title for more information). ❤️
1. The Girl Before by J.P. Delaney : After a tragedy, Jane needs a fresh start. When she finds One Folgate Street she is instantly drawn to the space—and to its aloof creator. Moving in, Jane soon learns about the untimely death of the home’s previous tenant, a woman similar to Jane in age and appearance. As Jane tries to untangle truth from lies, she unwittingly follows the same patterns, makes the same choices, crosses paths with the same people, and experiences the same terror, as the girl before. *I really loved this book!
2. Sharp Objects by Gillian Flynn: Fresh from a brief stay at a psych hospital, reporter Camille Preaker faces a troubling assignment: she must return to her tiny hometown to cover the murders of two preteen girls. Dogged by her own demons, she must unravel the psychological puzzle of her own past if she wants to get the story—and survive this homecoming. *I feel like I need to warn you, if you've never read Gillian Flynn's books before, be prepared for dark and mature writing. 😱😜
3. Dark Places by Gillian Flynn: Libby Day was seven when her mother and two sisters were murdered. She survived—and famously testified that her fifteen-year-old brother, Ben, was the killer. Twenty-five years later, the Kill Club—a secret secret society obsessed with notorious crimes—locates Libby and hopes to set Ben free.
4. Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris: Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do. You’d like to get to know Grace better; but it’s difficult, because you realize Jack and Grace are never apart. Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.
5. The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty: Imagine your husband wrote you a letter, to be opened after his death. Imagine, too, that the letter contains his deepest, darkest secret—something with the potential to destroy not only the life you have built together, but the lives of others as well. And then imagine that you stumble across that letter while your husband is still very much alive... 6. Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty: Sometimes it’s the little lies that turn out to be the most lethal...A murder…a tragic accident…or just parents behaving badly? What’s indisputable is that someone is dead. But who did what? Big Little Lies follows three women, each at a crossroads. *The HBO mini-series is even better than the book; no joke!
7. Pretty Baby by Mary Kubica: Heidi Wood has always been a charitable woman: she works for a nonprofit, takes in stray cats. Still, her husband and daughter are horrified when Heidi returns home one day with a young woman named Willow and her four-month-old baby in tow. Disheveled and apparently homeless, this girl could be a criminal—or worse.
8. Pretty Girls by Karin Slaughter: More than twenty years ago, Claire and Lydia’s teenaged sister Julia vanished without a trace. 10. We Were Liars by E Lockhart: A beautiful and distinguished family. A private island. A brilliant, damaged girl; a passionate, political boy. A group of four friends—the Liars—whose friendship turns destructive. A revolution. An accident. A secret. Lies upon lies. *Everyone said this had a twist ending and I totally called it!! 😜 Let me know if you did too!
