ha ha tonka | laura

We travel not to escape life but for life not to escape us.

I love traveling and seeing new places, even if it is only a couple hours away from home. A few months ago my friend Laura said, "Hey, we should go shoot at Ha Ha Tonka State Park." I actually had the castle ruins on my ongoing list of places to shoot sometime. I just love having creative friends who motivate me to do fun things :D Neither of us had seen the castle ruins in person before and they took our breath away. We wished we could actually go inside of the ruins to shoot but you know there are safety precautions, certain standards they need to uphold, blah, blah, blah. ;) Laura had a gorgeous lace top and tulle skirt that was perfect for the castle setting. I was wearing black too and, I have to admit, it got pretty hot out. I guess that happens when you wear black outside during the summer (which I do most of the time). :D It was totally worth it though to get these beautiful shots~

We were exhausted (& quite sweaty TBH) after our shoot, so we went to the first pizza place that popped up on Google--Pepperoni Bill's. We were a little skeptical driving up to it but it was so good. Seriously. Delicious.

We also checked out Seven Springs Winery while we were in town. Oh my word. We had the grilled chicken/apple/cheddar panini with a cinnamon mustard spread and a glass of sparkling moscato. I think about this meal at least every other day. I am not joking. The winery was also very beautiful and serene. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

Let me know if you've ever been to Ha Ha Tonka!

xoxo~
