I've been listening to so many podcasts and audiobooks about time management, life balance and living your best/most intentional life. I decided it's time to actually make it happen!
As a business owner, I am trying not to wear BUSY as a badge of honor. I think balance is all about working hard + well and also enjoying life to the fullest. I honestly enjoy my work but there is more to life than work. Work does not define me and it does not define you!
As I try my best to work well and also enjoy time with loved ones and live out my faith, I realized I need to be more purposeful with my time. I found myself waking up, having trouble getting out of bed, scrolling on my phone and finally getting up, rushing around and starting my day feeling like I was already behind. Yesterday I wrote out a simple morning routine and implemented it today. I've only done it one day, but it feels SO GOOD.
Michael's alarm went off at 6:15am. I dreamily went in and out of sleep until he kissed me goodbye and then my alarm went off at 7:30am.
The rest of my morning went as follows:
Short pilates workout while listening to a Francis Chan podcast (sermon)
Shower
Got coffee (thanks for making it Michael!)
Read a chapter of Make It Happen by Lara Casey
Wrote my thoughts on the chapter and podcast in my journal
Prayed
Made a spinach/fruit/almond milk/protein powder shake
Finished getting ready while listening to Jenna Kutcher's business podcast Goal Digger
Headed to Hoffman International Model + Talent Agency (where I work as the Photo + Marketing Specialist on Mondays, Thursdays + Fridays)
My next goal is to not use my phone as an alarm clock. Social media can be such a time sucker if I'm not careful. I noticed when I grab my phone I automatically go to Instagram. I had an adorable marble alarm clock but I didn't like it's functionality so I'm in search of another one (preferably white to match our bed frame, ha!).
What's YOUR morning routine? Are you pretty good at it or have you been struggling like me? Please share any tips you have with me, or your struggles. I've only implemented my new routine once (so can I even call it a routine yet? haha!) so I'll need motivation for getting up on time and doing the thing! Let's support one another as we live our best lives!
Happy Friday!
