new york state of mind

I know what I'm needin', and I don't want to waste more time

I'm in a New York state of mind

{billy joel}

Michael had vacation days he needed to use, so we luckily found a week that worked for both of us and booked a last minute trip to NYC. We had both been to the big apple before but this was our first time there together. It worked out perfectly that we would be there during the holiday season!

We decided to go full tourist and stay in Times Square at CitizenM Hotel. We loved the whole vibe and everything was very modern and high-tech. (The whole room was controlled by an iPad). The rooms are efficiently sized (i.e. little) so no more than 2 people can stay in a room which worked for us.

And the huge window in our room was picture perfect.

Oh look, a workaholic . . .

Who makes her husband take all kinds of photos of her. 🙄😂

On top of our hotel~

The perfect time to go to the Empire State Building is before sunset, so you get to see everything in day light, during the sunset and at night. 😍

The only things we booked in advanced were our hotel and flights. That way we could just explore and decide what we felt doing. Along with the Empire State Building (it was as magical as I remembered!) we went to the 9/11 Museum & Memorial, Little Italy, Late Night with Seth Meyers, NBC Studio Tour, Central Park, Holiday Markets (where we bought our adorable handmade taxi ornament), Come From Away musical (the best show we've ever seen!), Anastasia musical, and The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular Show. It was so much fun to walk around a see all of the Christmas lights and grab a slice, or two, of pizza. 🍕🍕

Thanks for following along with us. ❤️
