Cool weather and I have a good thing going. I absolutely LOVE leggings and boots and sweaters. Plus, I am extremely pale so I sunburn easily, bugs love to bite me and I honestly enjoy being inside next to a fireplace with my laptop or a book. I'm just better suited for falling leaves and falling snow. 🍂🍂🍂❄️❄️❄️ Since this is my favorite time of year, I wanted to give you a look into my winter closet and give some tips on your winter wardrobe just in time for holiday travel!
You can't go wrong with LEATHER. Seriously. If you don't have a leather jacket or coat, get one now. Go on now. Order one online. I don't care if it is pleather from Forever 21 (because that's what mine is 😁). I also found this floral skirt at Forever 21 (because why spend a ton of money on trending items?) so add an EMBROIDERED SKIRT to your online cart too. Now that you have a leather jacket and statement skirt pair it with leggings (THESE are my favorite pair from Express) to keep comfy and warm. {Hat is also Forever 21. Shoes are Old Navy}. Yep, that's the Eiffel Tower. And yep, that's a cute little dog who wanted in the photo. 🐶
I have fallen in love with BLANKET SCARVES. Last year I just wore them as ponchos but then I saw a girl in Paris easily tie one around her neck and I was like, Ooh, that's how you do it! Go HERE to see all the ways you can wear a blanket scarf. The most amazing part is that it is literally a blanket. I wore this baby (from Target) on the flight to Paris and then could use it to snuggle on the plane (because if you are still using the blanket the airline gives you, please stop). And I didn't have to stuff the soft, clean blanket into one of my carry-on bags. Can I get an Amen? (P.S. Behind me is the hotel we stayed in while in Paris).
When I'm in a pinch to look cute, I just throw a PONCHO on with leggings and boots. Honestly. That's it. I look cute and I'm comfy as ever. If it's really cold you can still throw a coat over the top, just don't put your arms through the coat holes (don't worry, you'll look chic). Poncho is from, you guessed it, Forever 21. Leggings from H&M. Boots from Sears.
If you can pair leather with a poncho in one of the hottest colors of the season? You do it. I found this lovely garment in Paris in a pile of new but heavily discounted clothes at SYMPA. I had to dig for it but it was only around $12. I found the best deals there! Another way I love to add style to myself is by a good gel mani. I love modern designs with lines and shapes (like you'll see in the above photos). Right now I have green nails because I wanted something holiday but not burgundy since I've already done that a lot. I wanted a gold triangle design on my nails but the nail salon didn't have a regular gold polish (only glitter gold which is not good for designs, weird I know) so I just went plain.
If you have a NYE party and don't want to buy a whole new outfit, just find a STATEMENT NECKLACE you can pair with a black top or your LBD to look stylish but not overdone. Necklace is from Forever 21 & I might have found it when I was suppose to be Christmas shopping for other people . . .
OR find a cute SWEATER DRESS (because to me comfort is key) like this one from Express. They have a ton of different kinds; just wait for one of their 40-50% sales to get a great deal. I paired Nickel and Suede earrings with this dress but kept the rest simple since the dress has a pattern.
