Having multiple jobs—with one being owning your own business—is obviously not always *sunshine and mermaids.* It IS a lot of coffee, late nights, multi-tasking, list-making and, lately, candy-corn.
A couple days ago I was sitting on my living room couch, falling asleep with my laptop brightly glaring at me; and I had a little freak-out moment. I was trying to back up all of the photos I edited that day but the newest photos said they were edited YESTERDAY. Where were all of the photos I edited TODAY?!?
It took me a minute to wake up and realize it was 12:13 a.m.—a new day. So my day’s work was still there and ready to be backed up. Whew! I feel like lately I’ve had more of these blonde moments than usual and I would like to publicly thank Michael for thinking these moments are cute rather than pathetic, or for at least telling me so. ;)
I say all of this because even when I’m tired and overwhelmed, I can’t imagine my life any other way. Photography is what I want to do. It’s not always easy—honestly it is rarely ever easy—but it is rewarding. I am so very thankful God has allowed me to have wonderful clients and also led me to my awesome photo job at Hoffman International. And you know what? I like cloudy days, and mermaids aren't even real, so there. :D
Thus, to all of my fellow tired-hardworking-hungry-dedicated-awesome people (so pretty much all of you)—remember, you are not alone. Stick with it, enjoy some candy-corn on a cloudy day, and try to get some sleep.
Much love~
